Auzen Forte Replacement Options

I have had the bug ridden Auzen Forte for about 3 years now, It works MOST of the time but randomly it will decide to act up and pop/static non stop. I have added a heatsink which really helped but I have had it. The other night I could not even watch a movie without POP POP POP every 5-7 seconds.

I switched to my Realtech 892 onboard audio but it does not drive my headphones (Ultrasone Pro750) worth a damn and I need to have the volume at 100% to even really hear well.

What options do I have?

A external AMP + onboard audio? A new card that also has headphone AMP?

Not really looking to spend over 100% but I would prefer to have something as good or better than the forte in working condition. I had my eyes set on the xonar STX but the $200 price tag would be a hard sell right now with my wife.

I watch a ton of movies, listen to music and game (not often but I do play a few hours a week).
 
Well, right now the creative Zx is the best soundcard in terms of bang for the buck. It will do ok with your headphones but I would suggest dropping another $100 on an amp like the Schitt Magni or jds labs O2

So I would get the sound card for $100 and sneak the amp in the backdoor later on. The creative will play ok with the 750s and will sound a good deal better than onboard but when you get an amp it will take it up another noticeable notch.
