Autoplay Not Working Driving Me Crazy Plz Help!

Autoplay doesnt seem to work anymore and I can't for the life of me figure out why. I right click the drive go to properties then autoplay tab and everything seems to be in order but it still does nothing.
 
I'm not a big fan of auto plays. I'd be more happy if they were gone all toghether.
 
You can but if you check the box to do this every time, and click do nothing and OK, it just comes back anyway. :(
 
go into administrative tools > services > disable shell hardware detection

although I don't know if shell hardware has any other services dependent on it. So if funky things start happening just enable it again
