automatically drop images in quotes?

Would it be possible for the forum software to automatically strip the IMG tags from post quotes?

I note that previous threads have been posted in Help and Feedback regarding auto resizing which is deemed unnecessary, the alternative suggested is to report nuisance posts but that sometimes feels harsh.

Instead of resizing could users be given an advisory note when they click submit post if their image is large? with a suggestion that they consider using a large thumbnail or resize. I think the problem is sometime just a lack of awareness of how easy it is to resize or get thumbnail links from the usual image hosts.

Regardless of the above, I think stripping IMG tags from quotes would be a good idea since it would benefit everyone without preventing users posting big or many images when they want to.

Given the small number of oversized images posted, it's much simpler just to contact a Mod or Admin to edit the post and remove the image tags.
