Microsoft has responded to recent web posts claiming that last week’s automatic update actually changed peoples update settings on their computer. The company is still looking into the issue, if you experienced weirdness after updating last week, hit the link above and report it.

We have been hearing some questions recently regarding Tuesday’s update release changing automatic updating settings. We have received some logs from customers, and have so far been able to determine that their AU settings were not changed by any changes to the AU client itself and also not changed by any updates installed by AU.

My settings got changed!!!!
Had it set to "download only" and I looked at the new patches list that was downloaded to my PC the other day, but opted to install later and Canceled out of the window, next thing I know, my PC reboots by itself about 2hr later (I wasn't working on it, it was just on) and I log back in to see that the new patches have installed and prompted the reboot, WIHOUT my permission..... So what else is MS gonna change our (their) Windows settings to....:confused::confused:

Changed settings on all 3 of my pcs. Reimaged my laptop, set it download only, installed updates, and specifically check the settings before and after updating. It definitely changed the settings on it's own.
