Hey guys building a machine for a buddy with a landscaping business. Here's some of the stuff that he will be running.

-AutoCAD Civil 3d 2010
-AutoDesk 3ds Max Design
-Adobe CS4 specifically Photoshop, Illustrator, and In Design

He has about a 1k budget, but will need everything.

Here's what I am looking at so far.

-Antec Sonata III w/500W Power Supply
-ASUS M4A785TD-M EVO AM3 AMD 785G Motherboard
-AMD Phenom II X4 945 Deneb 3.0GHz
-G.SKILL ECO 8GB (4 x 2GB) DDR3 1333 (PC3 10666)
-XFX HD-575X-ZNFC Radeon HD 5750 1GB 128-bit GDDR5
-ASUS VW224U Black 22"
-Windows 7 Professional 64bit

That's the main guts of the machine. Will put in a DVD Reader/Burner and more than likely a WD Black 500gb-750gb HDD.

Couple questions though. Is there any benefit to buying the RAM in a 4 x 2GB kit as apposed to buying them in 2 - 2 x 2GB kits? I can save about $20 if I just by the 2 - 2 x 2GB kits, didn't know if there was something special about the 4 x 2gb kit. Also wondering if a full 1GB of video memory is going to be needed. I have not worked with any of the above programs other than CS4, there is going to be some rendering but who knows if 1GB is overkill? I guess if it's there it's not going to hurt anything.

Thanks for the look and any and all comments/suggestions are welcome.

Nope, nothing special about a 4x2GB kit vs 2x 2x2GB kits. It would probably ensure that they're all from the same batch, but such things aren't anything to be concerned about these days with DDR memory.

Nope, 1GB VRAM not needed. Though, you may want an NVIDIA card for CUDA. I keep seeing reports that its better than ATI STREAM, but I can't confirm it.

For the monitor, make sure its not a TN panel.

Also, get RAMDisk.
