i noticed alot of creative users in this Forum, but has anyone ever tried an Aureal SQ2500 Sound Card?

yeah , some of you are probably thinking "Aureal is dead", But man i am here to tell you that they still Rock!

I have mine running on XP pro, with sp2, and some latency tweaks, and let me tell you, it still gives the big dogs a run for their Money!
Believe it or not microsoft still supporys a3d and there are still tweaks out there that allow you to play games Like HL2 and doom3 with no problem at all, a matter of fact you haven't lived til you have heard HL2 through a vortex 2 card, the sound is Awesome and unparralled.

it's a shame that Creative helped Ruin Aureal and then buy them out to make matters worse, i will never own or Buy a Creative product as long as i live.!
i can't wait to install my "Rare" SQ3500 Turbo and let the fraggin in HL2 substance Really take off!
anyone interested in Getting one to work with XP, let me know, all it takes is a tweak or to , and a download, and you are ready to fly!

of course "aureal rocks hard" in doom 3 and half life 2...they both use a software mixer. those games will "rock hard" on pretty much any sound card out there.

try playing battlefield 2 or unreal tournament 2004...or even ghost recon...where there's a real hardware 3d audio engine behind it and you'll be singing a different tune.

and microsoft doesn't "support a3d." the OS has legacy support for the technology, but by no means is microsoft "supporting" it.

man i can see you have no idea on what you are talking about!

My Aureal card eats those games up and spits them out for breakfast, lunch and Dinner!

i can tell you never had a Vortex2 Card, and you still live in the Dark Ages.

get a Life man!

all the technology that Creative is using now, where the hell do you think it Came from?

ess, ensoniq? all were used by Creative, now they have the Nerve to use the Aureal Technology and make Consumers Feel as if they "did it all" and they are the best.

thats a load of Crap man, and if you Buy into the thought that the Aureal Cards are junk and Lame, then you are as Lame as the Guys that make Audigy cards.
where the Heck do you think they got "Audigy" From?
one hint...Aureal you Moron!

<cires like a little girl> Waaaa I miss my SQ2500</cires like a little girl>

I'm the Creative Slut I'am because of this line is BS. A3D technology is rumoured to be slowly making its way into Creative Labs products in the form of EAX Advanced HD (which supposedly implements some of the 'real' A3D reflection mathematics, although the EAX/Audigy implementation is still inferior some 3 years on). The Audigy 2 ZS and maybe the 2, not the Audigy1 are where they are because they used (renamed) and improved on EMU and A3D (more than just a little of A3D's tech). Without A3D or EMU, Envy24, Cirrus, CMedia or one of the others would have crushed Creative By Now. Every time someone connects a headphone to an Audigy 2/2 ZS/4 or whatever, they're hearing A3D, not matter what its called.

My SQ 2500 also absolutely brought my both my KX133's and KT-133's (4 motherboards with the Worse being an EPOX 7KXA) to their knees. I'd I could talk my Bud out of his, I'd go back to it in at least one of my systems.
