So folks i have almost decided on A2s over many 2.1s i considered.Just want to be reassured.
I listen lots of metal ,rock and blues.i want super clear sound,also intend to watch movies.how will it fare.?
Is it good enough to shel in extra 40odd dollars in a woofer less system.
P.S-i prefer a notch above medium sound but not so loudy,with some tight bass which doesnt overwhelm.
And if somebody from india can tell me how much time does bajaoo.com takes to ship to mysore?or should i buy from store in banglore(suggest some) ?
What will be price difference?
 
Not my thing but, for you I just fired up Metallica - Master Of Puppets, and it was all there, bassline, guitar riff and the solo sounded good, not muddy at all. These don't have a problem with blues/ jazz, I don't think you will find a clearer set of speakers for the money. I had a far higher budget and these do it (see my thread here).

As for movies, I watched Kill Bill vol.2 yesterday and haven't enjoyed watching it as much since I saw it in the cinema and that's on a 24" pc screen as opposed to 40" in my living room. It's amazing how much these speakers bring the sound out. And no, I don't work for Audio engine.

U'll be lucky to find someone in India in these forums, the vast majority are from the US (I'm from the UK). Let alone someone with these speakers too.

I have a realtec sound card in my laptop which is decent.will a2s sound good enuf on them.suggest some very gud usb soundcard for around 50 usd.
 
I have the Audioengine's A2 and they are fantastic. Everything sounds brighter and more pronounced then on the Klipsch 4.1 setup it replaced. They obviously can't put out house shaking bass, but aside from that they have no shortcomings. If you don't listen to music where the bass line is the predominant sound then the lack of gut punching bass will be overcome by the overall higher quality sounding highs and mids.

I have had my A2s hooked up to the onboard sound and a Nuforce UDAC2. They sounded very good with the onboard sound, but the UDAC2 has put them to a higher level.
