Audio via 5770

Hey guys. I have a question regarding a 5770 and audio. When I first got my card I was messing around with different bios'. Now I'm not sure if was because of a bad flash or if its something else but around that time I noticed the hdmi out no longer worked. Is it possible to get audio via the dvi port on the card? I have tried a displayport adapter and I was able to get video, but no audio through that. And I have tried this dvi-hdmi adapter and again there is video but no audio. Can any of you guys help?

EDIT: I just checked on my 470 and the dvi-hdmi adapter can pass audio. When plugged in to the 5770 I get a message telling me that I need to connect to a separate audio source.
