Audio 'scrambling'

Hi guys, I recently upgraded pretty much everything in my PC and had it all pieced together for me by a local computer tech store. During this process, I transferred all my music files from my old PC to my new one using my ipod as a removable HD. Recently, however, I have been experiencing an intermittent 'scrambled' sort of sound when listening to my music. I listen to it all through itunes and have searched their forums for help to no avail. The music will be playing just fine, then it will sort of stick in one spot for less than a second and create that kind of scrambled noise that's bugging me. Has anyone had this sort of problem? And if so, is there any easy way to fix it that you know of? Any info would be greatly appreciated!

that can happen from time to time when transferring compressed audio from device to device.

It shouldn't be happening, but a few things could be causing it. Let's eliminate software/file issues first.

Whip out the CD the file was copied from and see if it still happens. If it doesn't, then re-rip the file and check again.

Also try a player other than iTunes in case you have some odd compatibility issue. BECAUSE NOTHING IS EVER WRONG WITH ITUNES, RIGHT? :D
