What application would the [H]ard community recommend for ripping one's CD collection to a variety of formats (uncompressed, MP3...) on OSX? I know about things like EAC on the Windows side, but I'd like to do my ripping on my Mac.

Any recommendations? Also, how is iTunes as a CD ripping tool? Does it do a good job?

Thanks guys!

Itunes is quite easily the best program for ripping CD's as it is extremely easy to use...

if you are looking to change formats for audio, or jsut set the default compression go:

command (apple simbol) comma ( , )
go to advanced
go to importing
then set the compression to whatever you want it to

Once that is done, that will become your default setting for conversion and importing, if you want to change any formats, use the same process as above, changing to what compression you want, then go:

select your files (in itunes)
advanced (drop down menu at top of screen)
convert selection (must have something selected) to _____ (_____ being whatever you selected)

that will then convert the songs you selected to whatever format you set. Other advantages of itunes are that you can buy music and movies, as well as rent new releases from the itunes store. As well, there is a function that lets you share and play your music or anyone elses from yours or their computer...
