This may be a silly question, but, even though I know a decent bit about computers, I have no idea about audio. I own a IBM thinkpad T42. I want a decent 2.1 system, and it seems everyone here points towards klipsch, but I just need to know that if I get, say, the promedia 2.1's, do I need anything else to hook them up to my computer? (IE external soundcard etc.) also, would It be hard to hook up an Ipod to them? Any help at all is appreciated. Thanks in advance!

if you get a klipch 2,1 the mini stereo plug that you would use to plug em into your lappy would be the same one you use to hook em up to your ipod.

don't have my t42 yet but if its anything like all the other laptops i have the sound isn't anything to write home about.

which is why i got my an maudio audiophile usb for my 8600.
but unless you have good equipment and good ears, i wouldn't worry about getting another soundcard.
