Audio issues for no reason :(

I went to listen to some music today and for some reason my audio just magically stopped working. It was fine earlier in the day. I tried reinstalling the drivers, no luck. All of my programs and settings are pointing to my audigy device. I'm not really sure what settings I can try and fix, but I tried reset defaults and the crappy creative diagnostics program see's no problems. Is there anything I can try besides reseating my card or repairing windows or something higher level. Is it possible that a sound card can just break for no reason out of nowhere, and if so how could I tell?
 
I'd do this...

1 - Completely uninstall any and all Creative stuff on your computer (drivers, programs, everything)
2 - Turn off computer & remove card
3 - Turn on computer, let windows load fully, make double sure all creative stuff is gone
4 - Turn off computer, install card into different pci slot
5 - Boot up and let windows install default drivers (if it can), or get the latest from Creative
6 - Hope for the best!

BTW, make sure whatever you're using to hear the sound (speakers or headphones) works on a different computer/audio source.
