I have been running Windows 2000 on my thinkpad 600. After I had a clean install of Windows XP, the audio device was not activated. I was able to find a driver for it. It worked perfectly after that. But the drive is gone after I reboot. What can I do so that the audio driver is activated every time I boot? Thank you.

I had a similar problem when I switched to XP. I was using my integrated sound on 2k. When I switched no matter what driver I used it would not work with XP, so I just put a sound card in it. I'm not sure about the switching of the drivers on boot, odd.

Sounds like your not using the exact driver, but one that's close. See if there's an updated version.

I got it to work!!

The trick is uninstalling the original audio device then reboot. XP will detect the audio device then we can install the driver.
