Audio Distortion.

I hooked up my computer to a reciever... to the speakers. I get really bad clipping and distortion at times tho. I plugged from the green audio plug to the phono space on the reciever. what do i need to do ? differnt plug? special cables? please help.. thanks

The phono input is for turntables and turntables only*. You are most likely going to damage that input (if not more of your system) by forcing square waves through the circuitry.

Solution? Use any other input on your receiver. Out of inputs? Get a switch box from radioshack.

*unless you decide to plug an analog instrument or microphone directly into it or soething
