how do i make a device that reacts to sound/noise/volume?

for example, my cathode is audio controlled, meaning when its on audio control, it flashes with the music from my speakers

can anyone find me a circuit plan or a guide for this?...i dont exactly know whats its called so i m not sure what to search for
