Audio App Question

Hope it fits here, otherwise please feel free to move it.
I use a music subscription service, play online games and use a gamming chat program. I like to listen to my music out of the S/P DIF connection into the stereo. Listen to my game from my PC speakers and when I use chat, I use headphones.
Doing all this seem to keep me in the control panel changing my default sound device all the time and it also requires timming of starting programs. So I set PC Speakers as default, start my game, tab out, change to S/P DIF as default and launch music service to get audio out of my stereo.

Is there a program out there that will make this a bit more simple?

Music:
Check your media player and see if you can change the audio device that it outputs to. I know media player can do this, so if you're using something different, you may need to switch.

Chat Program:
Ventrilo? I know Vent can define which input/output it uses. Like the music option, look in the settings for a place to specify which audio device to use.

Hopefully all of your programs will allow you to set the audio device. For those that don't, you can specify the default playback device. You can do this by opening the sounds icon in the control panel and then right clicking the device you want as default and choosing set as default.

I know that doesn't answer your question perfectly, but it might get you on the right track. If you can get 99% of your programs pointing to the right place, then you won't have to play the game where you have to start apps before you plug things in... I know thats a pain! :)

I haven't used it, but look at this tool: it might help you.
