i have audigy 2 zs Sound card and Z-680's 5.1 system hooked up thru analog connection

1)what should my digital output sampling frequency be in THX console(48 or 96) and why?
2) Do any of u use bass redirection and what is the best frequency to get the extra oomph :D in games/movies/music?
3) what should my master/wave volume be at?(currently at 79%)
4) can i mute the rest of the sources such as linein/cddigital/cdaudio/MIDISynth/MIc without effecting the overall performace of the soundcard?

I've got the same setup.

1.) Just left mine at default
2.) no
3.) personal preference
4.) sure

1. Have no idea what this does or why it applies to anything when using analog out. Try different settings and tell us what you think?
2. No
3. "
4. ", Shouldn't matter either way

1) This shouldn't touch the analog, if you're using the digital you might as well keep it at 96 unless you're having problems or don't like the sound of oversampling.

2) Nope, only have stereo.

3) Well, if you don't want distortion you should bring it down until there is no fuzz from your speakers, but I just leave it at 100% because I prefer to use the volume control on my speakers.

4) Muting those should actually improve the performance of the sound card, although it means you won't get any sound out of those as well. If you don't have a mike though, there's no reason to unmute it.

For number 4, I'd like to see someone that has tried to use all of those functions on the card- but even if they did, they wouldn't use them all at once; I dopn't think it can matter, if the card's performance suffered because of it, you would HEAR it, and I don't think it can get any better really by disabling them- while I also don't think it can hurt anything. I personally have no use for most of those functions, so has anybody messed with this stuff?
