I bought the platinum so I could use optical that is located on the front pannel of my pc and not the card itself. Then to use it with my onkyo reciever. The problem is when I test it with the calibration wizird it only detects right and left speakers. I have a 6.1 set up it tells me to check speakers. I did the onkyo remote test and all speakers are working great. What setting did I miss.also I put in pain killer and that gave me surround with my audigy 1 but only two speakers on 2. The audigy diognosic had no errors

Do you mean it only output sound on the front left and right when you did the calibration wizard? If so, this is normal for the optical SPDIF on non Dolby Digital Live cards (Soundstorm being the only Dobly Digital Live solution thus far). The optical signal outputs 2 channels. When a pre-encoded dolby digital signal (such as that of a dvd) is transmitted, it compresses all 6 channels into the 2 channel optical signal. The external decoder then uncompresses it. Clarify more and I'll try to help.
