Holy crap, Creative doing something new! I didn't figure they'd bother, since they have no real competition. We'll see if it actually offers some new features, rather than extra driver bloat.
 
Yea, I guess so. Good thing I plan on getting a gig of RAM for the next system also, if that's the card that I'll probably get to supplement the 1212M.

I'm not very impressed with the Soundstorm on my mobo. I don't have a surround-sound setup, but I'll just be playing songs on Winamp and the audio will skip like a scratched CD. Then I'd get crackling, and it wasn't my speakers. I'd get all these little, but consistent, problems.

I ended up putting in my Audigy 2 and it's seamless.
 
Odd... in my experience, the NF2 soundstorm is a smidge better than my original audigy but I'm told not quite as nice as audigy2 or a via envy24 based card
