AUDIGY 2 ZS PROBLEMS - PLEASE HELP!!!!

I have an audigy 2 zs with latest drivers and have had no problems whatsoever with any games until i recently installed close combat, first to fight. The problem i have is ingame i have no music or gun fire effects. Spoke to take 2 who said it is a soundcard fault the only way i can get it to work is by going into dxdiag of direct x and turning the soundcard hardware acceleration to basic instead of full but that inturn turns off all surround sound (5.1 i have ) for all other games . I have to keep going into dxdiag to either turn acceleration down or up dependent on which game i play. Please can you advise me on any possible solutions.

I use windows xp pro and never had any problems on any other game till now !!!!
