Audigy 2 zs optical help!!

hi everyone

i recently bought and Audigy 2 zs platinium external and i plan to buy the logitech Z 5500's in the near future. i just need to know what would be that best way to hook these speakers up optical to my external module. Since i will be using these speakers alot for gaming, music and movies i want to use the digital input.

so if anyone has any ideas that could help me please post your suggestions. :)
 
well if he hooking it up to the 5500's he can use the decoder to simulate 5.1. hahaha...... yeah that's gonna sound pretty fake

when you are gaming, you are better off sticking to the analog outputs
 
Like said before, games don't work in 5.1 through digital. IMHO just plug in both. Digital optical for movies, and three plug analog for games. That way you get the best of both worlds, just switch the input source back and forth on the speaker control pod! ;)
 
The only sound system I am aware of that does 5.1 for games through the optical cable is Nforce SoundStorm. I am still sad I have to use both a Digital and Analog connection on my new system to work for both games and movies.
 
lol oh no... not another debate of DDL and analog sound!!! :eek:

lets just keep it simple and stick w/ the analog outputs of the existing a2zs
