I just bought a pci sound card for the first time, so help me out here :)
I recently bought an audigy 2 zs, and the thing works great (aside from the junk applications bundled with it)
i did a full reformat today, and thought just get the latest drivers from the net, since i am unable to find the bundled cd right now. okay, instead of installing the apps, just get the drivers for right now, but when i start the installation, it says no previous installation of audigy 2 drivers are found, so the installation just quits. MY question is, do you need the cd!? the last thing i want on a fresh installation is AOL ads and then some
any help would be appreciated
 
No you don't need the cd.
Use a file archiver like Winrar to extract the files from the downloaded exe file and manually install them in the device manager
 
Been meanig to bump my old thread. You will get JUST the driver from what I understand doing this. In fact, pretty sure on new installs, I was able to go from windows driver to latest on Creative site.

Now if you need all the control panels and stuff, you'll need the disk. There is one iso of it on the net I could find after much looking. One of the first ones that comes up in google. I looked for alternative methods but that was it. I eventually resigned to DL'in athe A2ZS disk at a whooping 13KB/s. Thing is most of it is crap. All I needed was the speaker calibrator and speaker settings for bass redirection. If you find yourself in need, maybe these individual programs wouldn't be an outright pain for me to get to ya. But I never cared for any of this extra crap until I got a receiver based setup with no g'dam sub channel. Could be fine.

edit: may bad they don't compress for shit. Should have guessed. Well, each app is like 15 megs, at least the important ones for me. Could still find a way to help.
