Hello,

I just reinstalled windows and cannot find the disk that contained all the creative applications. Luckily service pack 2 had some default drivers, and i was able to update these to the current ones from that. I do not however have the creative control device that allows me to change cmss/cmss2 and my speaker settings (or change the volumes of the various channels). I believe it is EAX console. When i go and manually d/l it i get a error upon installation that a required file is missing. Checking the requirements it appears as if it requires itself to install! Anyone have a way to get this installed?

bad news. you need the installation cd to reinstall the software that came with the soundcard. it's not available for download. the files that you saw at the creative website are just updates and are not stand-alone.

Yeah, i was afraid of that, i somewhat remembered reading it a while back :(

Frankly i was somewhat surprised i got the drivers to install aswell, i thought they needed the disk, i was hoping creative had changed their ways.
