What is involved with doing an Audigy 2 driver update? The driver I currently use is dated Jan 2003 and I was curious if steps similar to video card driver updates were needed with the sound card, or if sound card driver updates were more simple to do. Do I need to do a thorough driver removal, i.e. video drivers?

The Audigy's driver updates are just that.... updates.
You install them over the current drivers.
In fact of you don't have the original drivers installed the installer for the update will bitch about it.
But there is a work around for that. :)
