I was wondering if there's a good reason to go with a psu that supports 2.2 as to one that only supports 2.01. Mainly I've gotten it down to the powerstream 600sli or the hiper. From what I've read they're both pretty solid units, so I was just trying to find anything that would push one over the other.

Thanks for your help

How? They are sooo different?

What are you going to power?

x2 4800+
4GB DDR 500
2 7800 GTX
AN832-SLI Deluxe
3 SATA II Drives
2 DVD-RW Burners
Soundblaster X-Fi

I've read all your great stickies and know you reccomend both units, so I was just trying to figure out any ways that one might be better than the other for my needs.

The Hiper Type R's are a very good value in the UK/EU, they are good, but not great PSU's.

The OCZ PowerStream 520W is more than enough & it is a GREAT PSU! ;)

which is of course also ATX12V v1.3 compliant
(but a highbred)

changes between v2.01 & v2.2 are very minor

Corrected 12V2 load levels (all crossload wattage classes)
& High Current Series wire terminals

they are just guidelines actual compliance being upto the manufacturer
some may have engineered their supplies to exceed them in the first place other may claim comkpliance when they really arent

The OCZ PowerStream is also both ATX12V2.0 & EPS12V compliant: http://www.ocztechnology.com/products/PSUSpec.pdf
