ATX 2.0 standards

Quick questions about fuses for a standard ATX 2.0 power supply. Are they like most audio systems where you can test the unit with a fuse with 3/4 the amperage rating and only "triggering" the unit to turn on and in this case just run the PSU fans(short pin 14&15)? Or do they for some odd reason need to have the exact Amp rating for that sort of test to work correctly?

Note: I know not to use a fuse with ratings that are greater than max specified on the PCB (Amp or voltage).

I don't even understand your question, but bump for your name. I liked KOTOR2 too. Heh

It was a question asked out of lack of sleep, and frustration with a specific ATX 2.0 proprietary unit that is giving me issues ATM.

It had to do with how much current the system would draw when running i.e. like most audio systems that have a fuse in the line for protection of the other components. You could test them with lower Amp rated fuses at a low to mid volume setting.
This allows you to test the system for a complete circuit. However you can't run the system at full volume or the fuse would blow because of the restriction brought on by the lower Amp ratted fuse.

I didn't know if a ATX PSU was different in that it would draw max Amp from the wall outlet regardless of its load conditions.
