I talked to support at XFX this afternoon and I was told that the 10.2 release was supposed to fix the GSOD, BSOD, etc. When I asked if anything was being done for those that are still effected I was given a story about how ATI has sold 2 million of these cards so the problem can't be that big of a deal.

When I told the guy I was just going to send the card back, I didn't get any sense that he cared.

What also troubled me, at the start of the conversation I told him the 10.2 drivers made the problem worse, so I tried 10.3. I was given the EWWW those are probably beta and buggy. Then later in the argument he used this same argument that I should wait for 10.3 because they 'might' fix my problem.

One of the things I enjoyed about my monitor is it's capability of going to 120MHZ. With 10.1, 10.2, and 10.3 I can not use 120MHZ. So when I inquired about a fix for this, I was told it was not being worked on.

I'm going to send this card back to newegg and try out something else.

the 120hz thing is being worked on by them

I find the 10.3 preview drivers are way better than any others i have tried on single 5850 that i run at 850/1200 stock volts, gsod has never been a prob for me...

XFX has double lifetime warranty but as far as I am concerned they are double freakin clueless and useless and their turnaround time is shitty always...

good luck man, I have had a 5870 and 5850 and never had GSOD issues on 775, 1156 and 1366 sockets

trying a 965/790fx rig soon, maybe that will change :p

I think there are just as many bad cards floating around as bad DP adapters, of course they don't want to admit it or believe it. That wouldn't be financialy smart or good for these company's images.

It has to be bad hardware. My first XFX 5870 was pure crap. I would get the GSOD within a few minutes of starting a game. I tried my coworker's exact same card and it was fine. My replacement card (so far) has been fine as well.
