There has been a concerted effort to clean up the Vid Card forum by introducing more moderators and enforcing the rules in a stricter manner. This, it seems hasn't been working to the level that the administration was wanting (and the majority of members also), so there will be concentrated coverage beginning today. From this point onward, the rules will be enforced to the letter, temporary and permanent bans will be handed out and the possibility of reducing the Vid Card members by a large margin is a distinct possibility. In short, troll, flame, namecall or any other infraction of the forum rules will no longer be tolerated, end of story. This is your wake up call, take it seriously.

Another tool we have to keep this forum running smoothly is the "Report a Thread" yellow triangle. It is an opportunity for members to report a bad post or thread. Within minutes a moderator or admin will be in the thread to clean it up. We need your help on this :)


The other Stickies will return soon....this one gets full attention
 
Even people flaming in the stickies lately.. it's pathetic, I hope this gets under control soon.

It will come under control or be a very small membership forum. One way or another it will be a nice place to post as soon as we rid it of flamers/troublemakers. You can count on it.

Good to hear....my mouse wheel should last a bit longer now. Wont have to scroll through all the BS posts.

ok so not to sound too dumb, but what is trolling ?
although i really enjoy this forum, i usually feel reather lost with some of the terms and names thrown around.
 
Trolling is like, someone from the nVidia forum going into the ATi forum and saying stupid thing like, ATi sucks, nVidia rules.
 
Trolling is deliberate posting of something that would elicit a known reaction from others, usually derrogatory in nature. It is basically a set up to get a reaction and then argue about it.

It's great to see things being brought under control, so we can come in to get information and help other forum users if we can assit them like it should be. I was very happy to see Doug give a kid a vacation who I tried helping earlier today and he turned around and started bad mouthing me. I am an old guy with 4 children and that is something I don't appreciate or expected in this forum, but have seen an increase of this type of behavior and I am glad that Kyle and the Admin Police are coming out to put an end to it.

Isn't there a way to limit the line count in the editor when you edit a sig? Or some way to check it after editing and give you a popup that says "Hey, stupid, didn't you read the rules? No sigs over 10 lines!"
 
And of you don't edit your sigs, I will. So get them with in the parameters set forth in the rules pronto.

This whole "final warning" non-sense is kinda over the top, dont ya think?

Besides I haven't seen alot of flaming or trolling since the whole 9800xt vs 5900U flame fest in '05.

Unfortuantely, not really. Not even vacations are over the top, as the flaming, disrepsect, and trolling continues to be a problem. Kyle has made it quite clear that such behavior will not be tolerated, and rather than cleaning up incdients as they happen, it is easier to simply ban offenders.

If it wasn't a problem, we wouldn't be talking about it.
 
Does this rule apply only to this particular board or will be implemented all over the [H]ardForum?

I think the point has gotten across. The mods are watching, the admins are watching, and Kyle is watching. Follow the rules, and you'll be fine.
 
This forum (including sub-forums) have had more than their share of problem children that will not get the message that we will have order here or they will lose their membership. The mods here have been granted emergency power to ban in this forum, that is how strongly Kyle and the rest of the Admins feel about restoring order here. All who post within the guidelines will have no problems, those who do not will find themselves posting on another board. The rest of the forum has the standard amount of problems and are well under control since the rules apply everywhere across the board.
