• Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.

I just had an idea I would like to through out I was in the FS/FT forums I have been doing some trading there lately. There are a good amount of trolls that target [H] because of the high value merchandise traded here and I thought it would be a good idea if Hardocp had its own reference feedback like heat but only for the forums, call it your hardness meter or something that might cut back on the trolls a bit, or make it a requirement to post a valid phone number or something. The rule about giving out IPs is a good one but you can track people with a valid phone number.

Seems kind of redundant with Heat and Ebay feedback given as references all the time anyway. That's just my thought though.

Ever since it's inception, the FS/T forum has endeavored to stay out of interactions of the deals and dealers. We take no responsibility for what happens between the trading parties other than offering preventative steps to avoid becoming a target of bad trades. Once the [H] moves from that position, it would be basically sanctioning trades here and that is not the objective. We will continue to offer advice, but the rest is up to the traders themselves. We will of course deal with those who come here with bad intent, but further involvement is unlikely at this time.

If it aint broke, why fix it?

Heatware works great.

I am just saying not everyone uses Heat or Ebay and if everyone had some kind of reference account that said how long they have been on the forums and how good there feedback was it might cut back on the trolls who just join [H] and say "OH ummm I don't use heat or I am a first time trader on this forum can you trust me" there are some good trolls out there. Anyways its just an idea.

We used to have a requirement that you had to post a non-free email addy but it was a pain to try to enforce and then you got those people grumbling "Here's my obligatory non-free addy but don't use it because I never check it, use the hotmail/gmail instead".

In the FS/T Rules there are a lot of tips for avoiding trolls. But I can't tell you how many times I've seen a post like "Help, I've been trolled and all I have is their hotmail addy and they aren't responding". Whose fault is that? We recommend you get real world contact info and verify it prior to doing a deal. If you don't take precautions for a safe trade, then there's really not a lot we can do for you other than encouraging the traders to work out a resolution and banning the bad eggs.

I've never been trolled I was making a suggestion. I know about the e-mail rule and I know how much it sucked. If you guys don't like my idea thats fine, shoot post a sticky of heatware.com at the top of th FS/FT forum.

having too many feedback systems is not a good thing, especially when each system has only a few transaction recorded.

if u've been trolled for a huge amount of money, you might as well buy a plane ticket and go down there and pay the scammer a visit.

another solution is, small claims court, as seen on daytime local channels.

Several years ago one of our then FS/T mods tried to start a heatware type of website for the [H], but it never caught on, so it died. It has been tried before with medocre results. Like I said before, we are not in the heatware business, it's just one of our forums. It was started to serve the [H] members to exchange parts among themselves and just grew to what it is today.
