what does the [H] think about this, at 4W i was thinking about getting one and a enclosure/psu and replacing my IPCOP midtower i have now but then i realized it only has 1 ethernet port so i would need to add pci card to it. this thing would be perfect if it just had 2 ethernet ports

pretty impressive board anyways, the HSF is for the northbridge not the CPU which just uses that small heatsink you see
 
First thing I thought of was the lack of ethernet ports on it.

Anyway looks interesting for some various apps I can think of. Throw it in an industral case and use it for any number of apps.
 
Interesting, very impressed with the power usage. Too bad SSD aren't more affordable cause that would really pair nicely with this board.
 
This would work quite nicely for a Carputer I think, such a small package could easily be tucked into, behind, or under some part of a cars interior. This board could also easily run off a 200w dc-dc power supply even with a 1tb drive for the file storage. I would do a small SSD 16gb ish for the OS and a 1tb drive for the file storage for the quick boot aspect.
 
Intels reference board have a pcie 1x, gigabit ethernet, hdmi. I havent seen anything else to compare.

Most of these boards should be able to run off a 90 or 60w PS.

Pre-made SSDs are pretty much a rip off, but you can't really build faster ones yourself with a single interface connector. It's still a niche product now and $/GB cross-over with magnetic drives may never happen.

I built my own using 233x 8GB CF cards ($35 each from Fry's) and a pair of IDE to CF adapters ($10 each from geeks.com). Speed feels pretty good with the two adapters in RAID0. I haven't run benchmarks on it yet, but I wouldn't be surprised if read speed is pretty comparable to a single Seagate 7200.10, with random access on the flash drives much, much faster. 16GB for ~$100 still isn't that great of a value though.
