Wow Nvidia threads and posts have taken over ATI.
Haven't seen that in a while!
The numbers are a good indicator for the great job Nvidia is doing.
Will that change when the ATI cards come out!
I think not.

a lot of it is the issues with 6800 cards and installs.

many people are having iq and performance, or functionality problems.
Esp all the non tech types.

A quick glance at the subforums front pages yields 4 threads for ATi having to do with performance problems and artifacts...and a whopping 2 threads for Nvidia having to do with performance problems...

I wish I had an imagination like yours...

That is because most of the Nvidia threads some how appear on the main video card forum. Both cards will have problems with configuration problems, and most are fixed (on both sides) with bios or driver tweaks.

key word there was front page..

nothing like taking a limited sample to skew results.

Simply a matter of people having more Nvidia cards then ATI, I remember alot of threads about problems with the 9700/9800 Pro/XT too.

Mountain out of mole hill.

if the card was not having issues..it wouldnt matter how many people owned them.

There are issues to be found with all hardware. Its the common nature of PC's. There isn't a product out there that hasn't had issues of some form or another.

The majority of the issues are usually user error though. You would be surprised at how many people are too stupid to even properly install drivers.

Okay then I guess that means the Volari V8 Ultra is a good card since they only have a small amount of problems going by thread count.

Looking through those threads it seems that most of them are people coming from ATI and aren't properly removing the old drivers.

I don't see alot of problems with my V5 5500 so it must be a good card?

Actually I would say that more posts with problems means these cards are selling!

The [H]ard Niners!

Jeeze and all I wanted to do was to point out how popular (good or bad ) Nvidia was lately.

Wow just the mere mention of the two together and all hell breaks loose

Oh and don't act like you don't know! (just kiddin :D )

I think not.
Naively shortsighted.

So both of you agree that mainly people jumping ship to nvidia for the 6800 series are novice types with little understanding of how to even install the card.

I'll take a limited sample over no sample whatsoever...you bitch about all these Nvidia problems that don't even exist because, for some unknown reason, you can't handle the fact that your favorite company isn't turning out to be everyone else's favorite company...

There have already been threads and polls showing that the VAST MAJORITY of this forum either switched to nvidia or stuck with nvidia...accounting for about 70% of the total...

Then there was another thread about how many people had problems with their new nVidia card...and that poll too again showed that the VAST MAJORITY had no problems whatsoever...and several of the problems were shown to be driver related...

Let's make another poll about how many people aren't satisfied with their 6800...or how many people have had to RMA their card...I only know of a handful...

You're spreading FUD and you know it. Keep your biased comments to yourself if you can't back it up with even the slightest bit of evidence.

hey alot people who post here still don't know alot about the architecture and drivers although they talk about it as if they do. Not to mention anyone specific but we had a thread about this (!!!!!!ism vs. no !!!!!!s)

Or maybe it's ATi's drivers mucking it up because they don't uninstall completely. You don't know either way...and furthermore, you're not even trying to prove it...

Thats pretty far from what you first said:
a lot of it is the issues with 6800 cards and installs. Many people are having iq and performance, or functionality problems. Esp all the non tech types.
And lets not forget this:
if the card was not having issues..it wouldnt matter how many people owned them.

You make it sound like NV cards are failing left and right when we all know thats not true. Just because a few people are too stupid to properly remove old drivers doesn't mean it's NV's fault.

If I went from a 5900 XT to a X800 Pro I would have the same problems too, does that mean it's ATI's fault for my stupidity? Of course that is if I didn't know how to do it properly. ;)

actaully he does have a point there, Empty remeber what I said about ATi buyers as general along time back :D
