Yeah although the audio could be an issue if you want to record that as well. Also you'd be better off with some sort of splitter or pass-through so he could play on a TV and you could record on your computer. If you try to use your monitor you end up with about a 1s delay.

You can record the sound through the line in on your sound card.

You'll need to find the right capture software. There are a number of free options.

AVI IO is nice because it seems to do the better job of syncing audio.

Another thing I ran into last time I was playing around was that ATI broke their WDM drivers. I had to go back several months to find ones with decent quality. It's been a while, I don't know if they've fixed it yet. I think I ended up running the cat 6.11s with the wdms from June.

Yes. Doubt it's a full second but it's pretty significant. By the time you process the incoming signal, compress it, sync it, and then stick it on the screen there is definitely a bit of delay there.
