ATi Trade-up

for any of those cards listed there on that page, you receive $50 in 'ATI credit' towards the purchase of a new card from them

it's not really worth it at all

its a rip imo, theyll only give you $50 worth of credit even if you trade in a 9800xt???

they must seriously think people are morons, well most of them are, but still u could sell a 9800xt for at leat 200 bucks. and thats half a card right there.

whats with the trade in price then? I thought they meant that you get 449$ .

I thought they meant u sign up for the trade in thing and send them 50$ for insurance, then when u get the new card with their 449$ and send back old card they send back the 50$ and all u lose is shipping. does that make any sense?

You can usually get the trade-in price or much better just by looking around online. Even if you can't, it still beats the hassle of doing a trade-in.

Did anyone other than the original poster actually bother reading the page?
The cards listed there are the ones that you can get a discount on. You can trade in any card, no matter who made it, and they'd give you $50 off any of those cards. Sounds like a pretty good deal to me. Especially if you were trading in an old piece of junk like a S3 savage 4 or geforce 2 MX.

yes, the trade in value is good, but the prices are rediculous, you could find the same cards for cheaper and you get to keep your old card

Especially since they are like 70 bucks on newegg. If they gave you 50 bucks off of that... then id do it :D

Major thread necromancy btw.

it is a marketing tool aimed at a specific demographic. and that is generally not [H]-er's.

more toward people who may have purchased a Dell or HP with a ATI card in the system and now want to upgrade to a newer V-Card. the prices from ATI (AMD) online store are usually higher than what they can be purchased for from say the egg or even a local vendor. on the plus side, it is a way to get a card that may be hard to come by via any other vendor.

This thread is 3 years old.

better late than never? lol

besides if i traded my old V-card to ATI, then i could not post a FS thread and recycle my hardware :p
and nope..i am not linking my FS thread
