OK recently I thought the fan died on my video card. Well apparently it did not. I bought an ATI silencer and hooked the new heatsink/fan to the power adapter on the video card ( the little three pronger but only a red and black come from it to the fan of the ati silencer) and turned the PC on. PC booted but the fan was not spinning on the video card. I double checked and made sure it cant connect more then just one way and it cant, but still no fan. Is there a way for me to convert it to connect to one of the fan connectors on my motherboard? Can I just splice the red and black to the red and black coming out of a fan connector for the mother board, or would I need a different voltage thing? It says on the ati silencer 12 v .30 a. any ideas?

ATI silencer and 9700 pro....

Well unfortuately it appeared there where no helpful people out there to tell me whether I should try this or not, so I decided to do it anyway. I will give this as a how to for those who may run into a similar problem. I cut the cable off an old fan and spliced the connector side onto the fan of the new ATI silencer. I connected it to my motherboard turned the PC on and BANG I have a spinning fan. Everything seems to be working properly. Here is a picture of the finished product.
