My old Radeon 9500 Pro started to malfunction, and since it was a BBA card with a 3 year warranty, I sent it back to ATI. Yesterday I received a replacement, which to my surprise was a Radeon 9800 Pro with 256MB of RAM. The process only took a week, to boot. Now that's what I call good service.

I just sent my x800 xt pe for RMA and they recieved it on Thursday. Did you get a confirmation email or anything or were you greeted with a card ?

Well mine was shipped last night, and here it is at work.

Haven't tested it yet. I'll probably test it out tonight.

Fast service dammit.

that alone is enough to make me glad I stayed with ATI. I was going to snag a 6800nu but I'm glad I didnt.

Update:

I found out that my card is defective straight out of the box.

Horrible corruption as soon as I run ATi Tool.

I called their Tech Support line and they helped me out until I had to talk to the RMA people. They didn't respond for a long time. I called today and they said that they will send Fedex to pick up the card from me :D and stress test it to see if there's any corruption and if there is, they will send me another one.

I'm pretty impressed so far.

They said it takes 3-5 and that includes shipping ...

I believe ATi is trying to recover after last year, and so far they're doing a really good job.

had the same problem.. they took a whole month to ship my card back.

I am getting artifacts on stock cooling on my x850XT and after switching motherboards many times with different chipsets I've narrowed it down to being the card's fault. I will RMA it and can only hope that ATI will live up to the $450 I paid.

I started to get artifacts on my 9600pro back in january so i sent mine back in, likewise, within a week i had a new card from them. To compare it to another RMA, i had to send my motherboard in to MSI because it wasnt working properly, but instead of the normal 10-12 businessdays, it took them the entire month to send it back out. Nothing compared to ATI

aye, they do indeed rule.

i replaced my 9500pro for a X800XT (for $250 :D) because i needed an upgrade and the 9500pro was dying on me. I'd get nasty artifacts in windows/games/everything about 25% of the time, so after getting my new card in, i sent in the 9500pro for repairs and they sent me back a 9800 Pro as well :D

now i can sell it and recoup some of the money that my x800xt cost me

anyone want a super cheap 9800pro? :D

Well i got the x800 xt pe yesterday and ran ati tool and it was clean. The card was sorta dirty but no artifacts even at 70C temps ...

Really nice ..

My X850XT-PE cost me 700 buck cnd and once I starting have problems I contacted ATI and told them it was failing.

Ati sent someone over to my house the next day.
I opened the door, he said he was from ATI, I went to go get the card and as soon as I turned my back he clubed me!

When I woke up my card was gone and my case was covered in a warm yellow liquid

Damn what do you people do to your video cards. I have an 8500 64 megs and its running great still. Yes I know its going on 5 years but after my computer upgrade and a baby on the way due end of November I can't afford a new video card. I have a 3 year old daughter also. I am trying to save up some money but its slow going.

Well 70C is normal when you room is HOT.

I've never had anything over 60C since my first x800 xt pe.

What is a "hot" room in your opinion?

What temp is your room that gets you 60c load? What case do yo have your stuff in?

Your stupid. Please slit your wrists.

On a more serious note. If I need to do RMA's I can't go through the people I bought my card from, lol. Going through them is like "OH NO THE CARDS NOT DEAD, SEE!? LETS TRY IT OUT, OH NOSE, LOOK, SEE ITS FINE, GO HOME."

I am glad to hear that ATi has fixed their RMA service.

how do u rma it any way? i have a bba x800 xt that i bought from some one and if it were to malfunction would it still be covered for X amount of years? or does it not transfer with different ownership

Wait so you still have a warranty for the 8500 a year ago? My warranty is way expired, and my 8500 died... If you can send it in and get a replacement, I might as well try too.
