it said X1800 xt on RD 580 can outperform 7800 gtx 512 on nforce sli 32 in every game and bench mark
seems bad time to get crossfire now. take a look @ the web site. I guess if ATI can release it on time, it'll be very good to get x1000 serious than 7800
but too late I got my 7800 gt already lol. hope it can give better performance for x800 xl lol Let's wait and see ^^
 
This performance is very positive and hopefully nvidia will have a good competitor for both SLi and mobo chipset performance in the near future
 
actually OP, the article said that the crossfire X1800XT outperforms the 256MB 7800GTX SLI, same with single card configurations. The 512MB GTX on the otherhand does edge out the XT, but he also said that ATI should be coming out with an XT-PE which will be a direct competitor for the GTX512. I dunno, a lot of people are already saying ATI will fall on its face. If things pan out in the next 6 months, we may see ATI as the king of the hill once again as was back in the 9700Pro era. Time will tell though. nVidia could just as well top ATI again. nVidia seems to be running pretty strong with their releases coming out on the same day as shelf release. ATI has some catch up to do, but hopefully they will be back with a vengence.
 
ATI's next chipests look pretty promising, that I will admit. But what worries me is that the "original" crossfire chips and boards are still practically vaporware, and now they're respinning it already? Seems like you need to have an original product to be able to revise it...
