ATi radeon X1950 Pro Query

I own a Sapphire Radeon X1950 Pro 512MB PCI-e, and I have noticed that whilst playing Prey, at certain points the game became very choppy, and was wondering is this a common problem, or does my PC need more ram, or a better graphics card?

I hope it is because the game uses high detail graphics, and not that my system is not powerful enough to cope with up-to-date games.

More ram couldnt hurt at all. I bet its using over 1gb in those areas.
