ATI Radeon 4850/4870 Mix And Match With Radeon 3850/3870

I just found this, and while it is great that they'll let you do it, to me it seems that the gains won't be all that big. But I guess some gain is better than having your card just sitting on your desk collecting dust.

I tried a 4850 and a 3870 in vista and xp with the hot fix drivers and, it was a sad no. i was looking forward to benching them toghethor.

Thanks for trying though! It would have been cool to not have to dumb the old gen cards, not that I have any that would have worked. I've only used nvidia the past few years. The last ATI card I owned was an x800 Pro. Good card. Anyway, thanks again for checking that out for us!
