when is the R600 due out? Stanford and ATI say it should fold even better than the best out now.

since I don't have any money... I'm thinking about the R600.

Any ideas? Thanks.



 
I'm waiting too--my next rig will get either an R600 ($$$!) or wait for it to push down the prices of the X1900 series.

All rumors point to a launch in "early" (i.e. Q1) 2007.

  • new generation -> reduced cost of old generations
  • better performance/ watt or ppd increase
  • get a second-hand "last gen" card on the cheap

I'm always thinking about ways to increase my folding. Even when I don't have any money. Dang, that is just about always.

I need to get myself a new box to play games on. My current game machine is getting pretty old. I don't even have any dual core boxen! And I would like to get rid of some of my old junkers. (You know... save on electricity... get a better return on PPD / watt)

R600 just might be the thing for me. With the quad cores coming out this month or maybe next month... the dual cores should get cheaper, or more powerful, or both.

No new shoes for my babies this Christmas... daddy needs a new gaming box!

Tape cardboard to their feet and make them get a paper rout! That way you can afford TWO new boxen! Having kids doesn’t cost extra when you put them to work as slave laborers. LOL
