Im a simple man, completely overwhelmed with the sheer amount of BS marketing on the part of the video card manufacturers. I also like to overclock. Heres what I wish to know...

What ATi cards can be modded to 9700 pro or 9800 pro 128 mb variety. I appreciate any and all input on this, thanks

9700 non pro -> 9700 pro
9800 pro -> 9800 XT

it is possible with the right cooling to realize immense gains with non - pro cards. if you are planning on watercooling, tec, or vapo, you can get away with murder on the cheaper cards.

also, there are very few 9500 pros available at this point. consider yourself lucky if you find a good one.

I'd agree with him, 9500 is sorta hard to find these days, and the 9700 to 9700 pro would be the next best choice I suppose. I'd look into it more if you are seriously considering the 9500 > 9700 pro.

I looked and looked and looked for a 9500 with the "L" shaped ram to no avail. All places I looked didn't carry it or were sold out. Anyone know where I can find one??
