Ok so I get my new xfx radeon 6870 yesterday. Remove all drivers from previous card. Install and run for an hour without issue. Can't hear the fan at all, the gpu idles @ 43c and topped out @ 73c after an our of BlackOps. So today I get home and turn machine one, once it boots to desktop the fan starts screaming so loud I can hear it 1 floor up. I come down stairs I its ridiculously loud. The gpu clock is only 850mhz when it was 900mhz(stock) and the memory clock was only 950mhz(1050 stock). I did not change anything yesterday. But now unless the fan is set to 25% its easily a crap ton louder than yesterday.

So, I call xfx and get a tech support guru within 45 secs (pretty darn good) We fiddle with a few things. I turn off the manual fan control and it settles down. I then disable the ati overdrive to give msi afterburner a try. As soon as I launch the control profile the fan starts screaming again????

Anyone else have this issue? Any thoughts on how to fix it?
