ATI or Nvida?

I'm looking at building a new system (about friggin time) and I'm trying to decide on a video card. I'm hoping to keep it under $400 and can't decide between the X850 XT and the 7800GT. Suggestions? Comments? Brand (MSI, ASUS, BFG, etc) reccomendations? I generally try to keep up with hardware, but haven't been for the past year or so, so I'm a bit out of the loop. All help/comments are appreciated.

BFG makes very good cards and they generally come with a slightly higher clock speed out of the box. They also have a lifetime warranty.

It would be a good choice.

I wouldn't go that far. Of course I am quite fond of my BFG 7800GTX's and I would definately buy BFG again.
