ATI options

Call me an uptight ass, but I hate reading articles and reviews and just about anything meant to make someone seem credible, that has a typo/grammar error in the first sentence.

AMD's Graphics Product Group has been on a bit of a role (should be roll) since the release of its new ATI Radeon HD 4000 architecture at the end of June, as it managed to catch Nvidia with its pants round its ankles.

That said, I don't know much about the ATI cards. I have not followed them much and am currently happy with my card. However, they are releasing some very budget friendly cards soon, and with the new work units benefiting the ATI cards it might make some short term gains on the 8800 gt in a ppd/$ basis. I kinda wonder from a few things that Xilikon has quoted from the NVIDIA team though whether those gains are going to be long term or if it they are just going to be until they drop new optimizations for the NVIDIA client.
