ATI Noob Question

I've had Nvidia cards for years now, but recently have gotten two ATI cards. I have two questions, that should be pretty easy to answer.

1) Will a 3450 be sufficient for connecting to a 42" LCD TV for playback of Blu-Ray movies, and maybe some HD video files? I could care less about gaming performance.

2) Assuming the answer to the above is yes, will the DVI-HDMI adapter that came with my 4850 work on my 3450, or are they somehow tailored for that specific card?

If the answer to number 1 is no, I can find a 4350 pretty cheap that I could use.

getting a slightly more powerful card will allow for use of special filters and other neat effects. the 4650 is a kick ass product in my book

and a 4350 might be a better choice for a few reasons. audio pass through is one.
