Ati newbie needs help

Just installed a 5970 with cat10.6 + "catalyst profiles update 6/18/10".


Got a few questions:

1. How the hell do I force AA on an individual game (starcraft 2 beta). On my gtx285 I just went to the program settings under 3d and added the shortcut/settings. Is there a 3rd party program that makes things easier?

2. What's the best program to check the temps? On my gtx I just used evga precision to check the temps.

3. Ati overdrive shows only one temp should I be seeing 2 temps since theres 2 cores?

4. What are the max temps? I know this is the Oc version so it should be running hotter. In furmark multi-gpu test I'm getting 93º/94ºc after 10 minutes..

AFAIK, ATI are jerkwads who don't give the user access to application-specific settings. Really sucks when a game simply ignores the second GPU and you can't alter the settings to get around it without ATI releasing a profile update.


ATI OD has one page for each card (pull down)....if you have two cards. It might not since you technically have 'one card' as far as ati is concerned.

That's probably a fair temp range for that card. You can edit the fan speed. Either a manual constant speed, or to a whole new fan speed ramp.
 
got it rock thanks. Now the weird part msi afterburner gives me 88c when I run furmark, but furmark/ati overdrive says 93/94c. As for the profiles I'm going to try "radeonpro" looks just like the nvidia profile page.
 
holy shit. I had no idea about that program. The last I looked, the last cfx profile editor stopped being updated long ago. This has been released since then! I'll have to try it this weekend on borderlands, as I've never gotten the 2nd GPU to do anything in that game. Nice find!
