Yes I am asking about the Sound Quality on a Video Card, I see from reading some reviews on newegg that the ATI HD3870 has built in sound! my current MB has ALC880, I also have a Audigy 2 ZS, I am getting a saphire Toxic HD3870 in a week or so and I am wondering which of the 3 I should use. I am thinking something other than the video cards Sound option is what I should use but I would like some of your all opinions.

It's simply a digital transport for those electing to use an HDMI cable to their display. The sound quality you hear will depend upon your sound equipment at the DAC/receiver/analog end. I've got the Diamond version of the card, and have not found any need to use the built in HDMI sound option yet. As a matter of fact, I disabled it in Device Manager to avoid any possibility of driver conflicts with the other audio drivers I'm using.

Ok, Thank you. I hadn't thought of that but it makes alot of sense. I However do see a need for it, as I like to watch movies off the net (Vongo, Netflix) and I am thinking of getting a Blue-ray Drive for my computer so I can watch movies on my HDTV. $130 for a Blue-Ray Drive is alot less than the $400 for the cheapest alternative.
