ATI gets a doom3 boost

There were 2 huge threads on this yesterday, both locked, and my current thread is still going on the performance effects. You are a bit late bro :p

has anyone tried this, and how are the results?

HAHAHAHAHAHA - has anyone tried this? sorry, really not ment as an offence but there was a freakin WARZONE around every place where this topic surfaced!! :p

I did this mod. I have to go back and make sure that my settings didn't change when I did it though. I was sure that I was at 1024x768 with high detail before, but after the mod it said 800x600 high detail. Can't remember the AA settings right now. Either way, it hits the limiter at 1024x768 on high detail, and jumps down to 30fps in bright open spaces (for Doom). I get flashing white pixels though, so that might be my overclocked 9800Pro/XT. Carmack did say that Doom3 would be more intensive than something like a long test that ATItool gives for finding the max OC...

edit: I might have changed the AF setting in the file to 16x from 8x. I'll have to check tonight when I get home.
