ATI Folding Optimization

What are the current best practices for ATI folding?

I am using the guide in the sticky, but I seem to remember there was some environment variables you could set to tweak stuff (like how much work was sent to the GPU at a time, etc). My GPU is hovering anywhere from 80-100%, I'd like to see if I can get it all the way to 100, and also possibly get it to use less CPU.

EDIT: Also, I am getting WU's that use R600's Core16 on my 7970, is that correct?

The variables are no longer relevant for core 16, and it is correct for your hardware.

supposedly they are working on a new core for the GCN architecture but i'll believe that when we see it in about 5 years.

Ok, sounds good then.

Yeah, it would be nice to see something a bit more optimized for these cards as I am only getting 6-8k ppd from it. If that.

Wow only 6-8k? My 5870 gets a little more than that :( I'm shocked that the extra clock speed didn't put you at least over 10k. That really sucks.

its a completely different shader tech/openCL system from VLIW5/4 so performance is going to be shit until PG fixes it.

And we all know what kind of rush the Pande Group will be in to fix that....

It's just not worth it to fold with an ATI card.

Performance might have been marginal during the early core 16 days, but not now.
Hope for the best, but PG can't keep up with GPU hardware, unless its done for them.
