ATI Eyefinity Experience Tool

That's pretty cool. It still doesn't even remotely compare to being in front of a real setup though. :)

That is cool. When I explain to friends and family member what EyeFinity is all about, I would show them Google image search results, and I usually feel that the photos don't do it justice.

This Experience Tool would go a long way in showing off EyeFinity. I only wish they added the ability to see EyeFinity in portrait mode as well as landscape.

Look at that! Eyefinity gives you a hud! I don't see how anyone would be able to game with a single monitor, missing that hud and all.

They need to add burnout paradise. God I actually flinch when the cars hit.

That does a pretty awesome job at demonstrating it. All you have to do is watch it for awhile in eyefinity mode then switch back and go wtf this sucks!

Eyefinity = Win.

It's such a freakin bummer when a game doesn't work in Eyefinity. :(

They should make it bigger...other than that, great way to show someone what Eyefinity is all about.

I bought three screens for $550 tops, they even rotate. And if you're buying a new video card to upgrade anyway you can technically not count the cost of the card. :)

Can anyone recommend a good near-bezelless monitor?

I still want to see three 30" screens setup that each one can do 2560X1600 which would be 7680 X 1600 I think in eye Infinity mode. Which would be bad ass.

My did EyeFinite on the cheap:

HD5830 = $200
2 x 22" LCD (1680x1050) = $300
DP-to-VGA adapter = $30
+22" LCD I already had (also 1680x1050)

Total $530.

Which is fine if you start with a 22" and you only want 5830's worth of IQ. Starting with my 24" it would be 500-600$ for the monitors (if I match to my 24"), and would want at least a 5870. I might even want more GPU than that because of the 70% more pixels. To get a 40fps average (I like higher averages and actively dislike low miniums) I would need a GPU to give me almost 70fps on a 2560x1600 monitor or 120 fps on a 1920x1200 monitor.

So if I only go with a single GPU and a matching set of 24" it would be 1000$ range.

I already have two 22" near identical monitors, but the bottom bezel is about 2 inches thick due to the power button. That's fine if I want to do landscape EyeFinity after adding a third monitor, but I'm really wanting portrait mode EyeFinity because I work on my computer far more than I game on it, and Portrait mode would go a long ways for me. I'd have to replace all 3 monitors with bottoms without bezels (or nearly so)

Can anyone recommend a good near-bezelless monitor?
That's a good question, actually. Perhaps we should consider making a list of monitors well-suited to Eyefinity at some point. Buy "we" of course I mean "someone else" :)

till know i liked eyefinity but was gonna get just one big monitor for my next system.. eyefinity it is.. 3x 24" monitors with 5870... is one enough though for that resolution?

It's not about the inches it's about the resolution. Whether or not it's enough is up to you really, I'd take three monitors with lesser detail over one monitor with high detail anyday. For me it's about the fun not about staring at edges and objects and fapping over how amazing they look.

5870 has been plenty for me.

Umm, not sure if I am the only one that noticed this, but what game are they really showing when you select BFBC2?

I have BFBC2 and i even played the beta, and i never saw any gun with side loaded magazine, and the characters and map even looks different, so what gives?

That's great to hear because I am getting a 5970 to run a 3x24" setup.

I went old school and got 3x1900x1200. Seems to be far tougher on my card than 3x1080p. Not sure why, but yeah if youre going typical 3x1080p it's plenty.

I'd love to see it with other games...I dont play shooters but I like racers, rts and rpg....

Pretty sure that is BFBC2, just one of the early levels in the campaign. If you haven't played the campaign, it starts off in WWII with you infiltrating a Jap island. It looks like they chose one of those levels.

Haha yeah i noticed that too, it seems they just lop off the other two monitors it's clear when you're playing the dirt 2 video, apparently dirt 2 is a horrible game to play on single screen as you don't get any hud :D, it's not a valid comparison of eyefinity vs not it's really just a comparison of eyefinity on with 2 outside monitors off vs all monitors on.

Great marketing tool none the less

Oh crap............I want an Eyefinity setup..............

My biggest problem is that I don't have the desk space for 3 monitors as my gaming rig sits on one side, and my Toshiba HD-A1 sits on the other side of my LCD TV.

You didn't play single player then, because that's definitely in the game.

That would explain it.

I have never played single player campaign on either my PC or PS3 copy.

I keep forgetting this game has single player, i guess i should check it out sometime. :p

I would have really liked to see a "portrait" option. That would have been even beter. So you can see all the goodness. :D

I believe you see less in portrait mode. You would see the same thing you see in a single monitor solution, only spanned to all three monitors.

The only reason I love portrait mode is there's a great deal of nearby spaces to be had when you're always working on multiple Excel and Word docs.

thats just awesome. I need to bite the bullet and pick up 2 more 28" monitors.

More vertical space can be awesome in some games; and it also provides more viewing area with a less pronounced fisheye effect from limited FOV's.

Samsung seems to be a good choice to look at. Last time I was looking at monitors most of theirs had thin bezels all the way around. Several other had a thicker bezel at the bottom, ruining the option of portrait mode.

Just look around.

Sweet. I was inches away from stepping over the line 4 months ago when newegg had 19" monitors that ran 1680x1050 for 110 each, but the cost of the card killed it.

Another killer for me is my monitor is 1920x1200 and 2 monitors at 1920x1200 is the same cost as 3 monitors at 1920x1080.

Have been salivating this setup for a while, have the 5870 but haven’t been able to pick up monitors yet. 3 kids in college and this economy gots me puckering....................
