OK, I am getting really frustrated right now. I want to setup a third monitor for my rig, so i went out today and bought an ATI 9250 PCI card. So I plugged it into one of the pci slots. Started my comp up and it said found new hardware.

So I know it reads the card, it has the red screen that says what to install, thats fine but when I install the ATI drivers, the tab that says preparing to install new drivers goes to 100% and than just dissapears. Hers a pic:

So after it gets to 100%, it just dissapears. I dont know why. Its really getting on my nerves.

Ive got service pack 2 installed and net framework. I cleaned all the old drivers too from an old ati card that i had.

My brother picked up the same card and his installed fine...i dont know whats wrong with my system.

Any ideas?

It may have to do with your overclock of you processor. Either lower the OC or go back to normal speeds and try again. It will probably work.

Sometimes the OC will prevent installer programs from funtioning properly.

Make sure your motherboard chipset drivers are installed first, After that, use drivercleaner to clean out any ati drivers. Disable any firewall software/Pop up blockers/antivirus software while you load the drivers.

Thanks for the replies. I am going to try it out; gonna use all the suggestions. I will let you guys know how it goes.
